Don’t mind us, we’ve got Olympic fever. From the very French, epic poem that was the opening ceremony to all the wonderful moments big and small – Suni and Simone deciding what Tiktoks to do with their medals, the video of St Lucians going absolutely bonkers for track star Julien Alfred, the French pole vaulter’s pole, pommel horse guy obvs, the medals with little bits of the Eiffel Tower on them, the weird but soothing color palette, questionable Ralph Lauren blazers – the 2024 Olympics have been especially great this summer. With the news cruise we’ve been on, and the roller-coaster prelude to the crucial presidential election this year, it sure feels good to watch humans from 206 countries, in peak condition doing impossible things, unified on a Parisian stage. Sportsmanship, conditioning, positivity, unity, strength, teamwork, respect, honor, and optimism - we’re so into it.
