Started by Deirdre Maloney and Minya Quirk, co-founders of the Shoppe Object trade show and longtime fashion industry veterans, Afternoon Light was built to solve the problem of a hard-to-navigate home landscape. Afternoon Light produces Shelter, the in-person annual event in New York City launched in 2025, that has redefined what a design fair can look and feel like.
Our team scours the home and design industry across disciplines and categories. Our mission is to align best-in-class products by brands and people who design and produce beautiful objects for the home with integrity and purpose. Because what, and from who, you buy matters. We're proud to present our picks in person and online, in an exciting mix, and accessible vernacular that prioritizes inclusivity and joy. For all spaces, all people, all things home.
