Everything has a symbolic significance in Berber (Amazigh) culture as well as an artistic touch. Moroccan Rugs are woven with intention, Berber women weave their vision and prayers into them. There is always a mystery and some room for interpretation in each rug, since all of them are personal expressions of the weaver. Some patterns and shapes are universal and are carried through generations, like elements of checkerboards, also called Barley or Partridge, which traditionally represent Beauty and fertility.

A luscious high-pile, shaggy Boujaad rug with an eye-catching diamond pattern connecting to abstract shapes.

This is a one-of-a-kind authentic Moroccan handwoven recycled rug. Wool is a scarce resource in Morocco, often Berber weavers create pieces for their own homes, and for the markets, from recycling wool from torn unrecoverable Rugs, creating the beautiful textures. Locally raised wool is extremely expensive, and most new Rugs are made from imported wool
